Maxwell Jacob Friedman, or MJF as he is popularly known, may be a favourite son of Long Island, but the world outside of his hometown isn’t as kind to him. He is the reigning and defending AEW World Champion, but on any given day, hundreds to thousands of people express their hatred for him openly. Even his mother is not shy about her feelings towards him. The commentary booth, including Excalibur and Tony Schiavone, are not fond of him either.

Recently, a merger between WWE and UFC under Endeavor made major headlines, sparking talks about crossover events between wrestling and MMA. Among the people discussing the potential crossover was Bellator’s undefeated competitor Dillon Danis, who tweeted, “if I ever see [MJF] in person, I am rearranging his face.”

While MJF is known for his trash-talking skills, this time, his critic may have the power to back up his words.

Who’s this pussy?”

In response to this, Danis posted a picture of MJF in his wrestling gear and firefighter helmet and addressed AEW President Tony Khan, saying, “Hey [Tony Khan,]” he said. “Why don’t i come on the next [AEW] show and absolutely destroy this failed chip and dales stripper with b***h tits on the mic and then break every bone in his body?”

The tweet didn’t go unnoticed by MJF, who responded by saying, “Awh, did the little man @dillondanis just crawl out of his hiding hole to tweet again? I’m surprised he hasn’t gotten knocked out yet. Must be all that time he spends on the floor.”

Danis has certainly had his fair share of controversies and run-ins with other fighters and officials in the past. His involvement in the post-match brawl at UFC 229, which saw Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s teams clash in the octagon, resulted in a seven-month suspension from the promotion.

More recently, at UFC 268, Danis had a heated confrontation with Ali Abdelaziz, an MMA manager who represents several high-profile fighters. The altercation ultimately led to Danis being kicked out of the building by security.

With his latest comments directed towards MJF, it seems that Danis is once again courting controversy. While some fans may see it as just harmless trash talk, others worry that it could lead to a physical altercation if the two ever come face-to-face. And with the worlds of MMA and pro wrestling becoming increasingly intertwined, it’s not impossible to imagine Danis making an appearance in an AEW ring to settle his differences with MJF.

Despite the constant threats, MJF has proven time and time again that he can hold his own in and out of the ring. Known for his quick wit and savage comebacks, he has shut down many of his opponents, both in the wrestling ring and on social media. His confident demeanour and arrogance have earned him a reputation as a top heel in the industry, and he thrives on making enemies.

The recent merger between WWE and UFC under Endeavor has sparked a lot of discussion about the potential for crossover events between wrestling and MMA. As a result, MMA fighters have been showing more interest in wrestling, and vice versa. With Dillon Danis’ tweet, the possibility of a future confrontation between MJF and Danis is now a hot topic among fans of both sports.

However, as with any potential matchup, there are many variables to consider. While MJF may have experience in amateur wrestling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, he is primarily a professional wrestler. Danis, on the other hand, is a highly skilled MMA fighter with a 2-0 record in professional fights. If the two were to meet in the ring, it would undoubtedly be a clash of styles, and it remains to be seen who would come out on top.

Regardless of the outcome, a potential match between MJF and Danis would undoubtedly draw a lot of attention from both wrestling and MMA fans alike. The trash talk between the two fighters has already created a buzz, and it remains to be seen whether or not they will eventually meet in the ring. One thing is for sure: MJF will not back down from a challenge, and he will undoubtedly have something to say about Danis’ threat.
